Description
Several decades ago my parents moved to a new house. There was a rosebush in the garden there and Mom waited eagerly for it to grow and bloom. The bud began and when it peeked out, it was white, but as it opened, a glorious intense dark pink began flooding the petals. She was astonished and delighted and proclaimed it her favorite! She went searching for its name and discovered it is called a Double Delight rose.
Life happened, they had to move again and she left the rose behind, but she has always remembered it. When I asked her what she wanted me to paint for her new phone case, this is what she picked. Every time she sees it she remembers how much she loved that rose and how much I love her. It connects us and brings us closer, and we both value that.
When I was developing the Tea Table Gallery print line, she gave me permission to rework it and share it with all of you as well! She loves the thought that you can share her love for the rose, and connect with people in your life too!
*****
This piece is part of the Tea Table Gallery, a special print format meant to facilitate connection instead of fleeting contact. They can be folded and put in an envelope like a card, with space on the back to write a note to the person you share them with.
They are the perfect size to display anywhere at all, turning tea tables into art galleries, bringing beauty to the smallest spaces without needing the investment of a frame or space on a wall!
