When I bought the blank phone case for myself, I had to get 5. Because I couldn’t get just one. Since Mom has the same phone I do, I asked her if she wanted one and let her pick what would go on the back.
She had this rose once and absolutely loved it, so she chose it for her case. I found some reference pictures of it online and painted this for her!
It’s all watercolor. I shaped the areas I wanted to work on and then used Lock Transparency so I could fill in all the color and shading while allowing each petal to be distinct. Turning pigments on allowed the colors to blend and brighten as they diffused, and manipulating the water content of the brush controlled how far it diffused.
I think the result is quite lovely, and Mom loves it too!
This plate has the same issue that mine does, so the colors are a bit off and it’s a little blurry.
